Acne Skin Care Basics

When you have an acne outbreak, do you know how to take care of your skin? Unknowingly, many people tend to use acne skin care methods that aggravate their present condition further. Take for example the notion that a patient must seriously scrub his face to take away dirt. Is this the correct way for acne skin care? Not quite. Heres the scoop.
First, it is important to understand the cause of acne before knowing what acne skin care measures to use. Acne is neither a direct resul of dirt or uncleanness. However, your acne problems worsen when dirt mixes with sebum and other skin debris to create a mixture which may settle in the pus of the pustules.
Medically speaking, acne is caused by many internal body factors such as a weak immune and digestive system, impaired internal detoxification system, and stress. Outside influences like weather elements, pollutants, humidity and the bacteria thriving on the human skin contribute to aggravate your acne. Ultimately, all these factors may not have effectively produced acne if it were not for the P acnes, which digest excess sebum. The effect results in inflammation, swelling and pain.
It is not easy to pin point the cause of acne on your own. It is best to solicit the help of a dermatologist to help you determine the cause of your acne and to recommend an appropriate acne treatment. Notwithstanding, there are a couple of tips on proper acne skin care that you should be aware of.
The first step to good acne skin care is to minimize the sebum production to a level to sustain normal skin. However, in most cases, to treat acne, more needs to be done.
If skin oiliness persist, it is best to keep the pores open. The principle behind this acne care is to release the clogs in the pores and wash them out. The only way to achieve this is to wash the face with extremely hot water. Repeat this procedure to help repel skin bacteria.
It is also recommended that you do not zealously wash your face with harsh scrubs or cleansers. By doing this, you may only aggravate the severity of your acne. Actually, washing your face gently two times a day is enough.
In terms of acne skin care products, choose the ones that work best best for you. Select the acne care product that gently clears away the oil and dirt without leaving your skin dry and irritated. In fact, ,mild acne care works best for all skin types. This will require some trials and consequently, some errors.
It is best to trust your dermatologist recommendation first. If his recommended product does not work, then shift to other acne skin care products. This way, you are experimenting with acne care products that may suit you best. It is important to note that during your first applications, use small amounts on a small area so that any damage is at best limited.
Also, avoid alcohol-based cleansers as these may only dry out your skin. Dry skin is more vulnerable to serious acne outbreaks. On the other hand, minimize the use of oil-based products as these in themselves may add up to the pre-existing oil content of the skin. At any rate, an acne patient must avoid applying cosmetics, however oil-free they may appear to be.
Proper acne skin care methods can go a long way to help you in your acne problems. Good diet and lifestyle habits are other measures that you can also adopt for better glowing skin. Good luck!br

Serious Skin Care Product Basics

Whats the difference between a serious skin care product and something else? Who says any skin care product isnt serious? Whether dealing with acne, aging, wrinkles, scars or anything else, skin care is always serious to the person dealing with any particular issue.
These days, thousands of skin care products line grocery store and drug store shelves, their fancy colors and packaging beckoning to the vanity found in all of us. Fresher skin, softer hair, smoother skin, no more wrinkles, whatever the case may be, theres a product out there designed and created just for you!
Many different types of skin issues afflict billions of the worlds inhabitants, and whos to say whats serious or not. A mild or severe case of acne is still acne, and the same goes for freckles, lines, crows feet, laugh lines and frown lines. What one person may consider a mild skin condition might be devastating for another. So, when it all comes down to basics, all skin care products are serious.
That being said, not all of those products that line those shelves are worth their packaging, or their price tag. Keep one thing first and foremost in your thoughts if youre looking for anti-wrinkle or anti-aging skin care products, or those meant to replenish, re-moisturize or re-hydrate the skin. They all must contain some form of Retin or Vitamin A to be worth anything. Even then, it will take months of constant use before you may see a difference, so patience is the key if youre trying to reverse the natural effects of aging. Also keep in mind that nothing will make wrinkles or lines disappear, but certain skin products will plump up skin cells to lessen the appearance of those lines and wrinkles.
For those who suffer from mild to severe cases of acne, products that contain alpha-hydroxy components will work best. Try to stay away from products that contain alcohol, as those may cause even further drying to the skin. There are other whitening creams and ointments out there that will reduce the appearance of freckles and scars, but again, long term use is recommended for best results.
Whether you decide to go for nationally know cosmetic brands or you want to try generic, or even natural, organic products, always read the label to determine ingredients. Make sure that you are not allergic to any of those listed, and then, to be on the safe side, perform a skin test with your new product before you apply it to large areas of your skin, not matter whether its made for face or body care.
Yes, skin care is serious business, but search for products with a little healthy skepticism. Dont believe everything you read, whether its in your favorite glamour magazine or not. Learn to identify major ingredients and how they work on your skin. You dont have to be a chemist to learn a few terms and basic compounds, but you do need to use common sense when choosing particular products, especially those that you use on your skin.br

Skin Care Problems – Lisa's Story
Author: Ken Black

Skin Care Problems and Solutions
Skin care problems, like sagging skin, wrinkles, brown spots, acne, rosacea, dry skin, or aging skin can affect your appearance and how others think about you. More importantly, it can affect how you think about yourself. Here are some solutions to those problems.
Lisa used to love going out on the town with friends every once in a while. It sure was a great stress reducer. But, then, Lisa started to experience skin problems, like skin blemishes (possibly from all that sun exposure earlier in life) and some wrinkles around the eyes (you can't stop aging you know) and elsewhere. It seemed like co-workers and others didn't talk to Lisa the same anymore and they didn't want to go out with her as much. What the heck was happening here?
What Happens to So Many People
Lisa's confidence dropped quickly and so did her overall looks. She stopped dressing smartly and professionally. She stopped exercising and for some reason, didn't care what she ate either. Within a few months, Lisa started to feel quite ill and started missing work, not to mention how older she looked. What was she to do? A trip to her doctor was a good starting point.
Skin Care Makeover and More
Her doctor was very sympathetic, but mentioned that in order for her to improve how she looked and felt, some actions had to be taken. Taking better care of her skin, losing some weight, and eating better would help. Lisa mentioned that dressing better might also be a good idea, since really successful women always looked sharp in every way. These steps just might do it.
After some effort and time, it worked. She got her life back, and like magic, people started noticing a new women. A new Lisa with radiant, clear, smooth looking skin, an attractive figure, and wearing a new sharp outfit, emerged.
The Result
Success at work and in her whole life followed. It all started with improving the look on her face using advanced skin care products. Everything else amazingly flowed from that point onwards.
Conclusion
If you like the look of the person you look at every day in the mirror, it will affect your energy level and what you'll be able to accomplish in the rest of your life.
Don't give up on yourself. If you have problems, see a doctor if needed and get help. Pray also, because God does want to assist you, but you have to ask.
Lisa's story is only an example, but is a carbon copy of similar stories that are very common in today's society.

Oily Skin Care
Author: Nitin Jain
Source: isnare.com
To start the discussion on oily skin care, it's imperative to first understand the cause behind oily skin. Put simply, oily skin is a result of excessive production of sebum (an oily substance that is naturally produced by skin). As is known to everyone, excess of everything is bad; so excessive sebum is bad too. It leads to clogging of skin pores, resulting in accumulation of dead cells and hence formation of pimples/acne. Moreover, oily skin spoils your looks too. So, 'oily skin care' is as important as the 'skin care' for other types of skin.
The basic aim of 'oily skin care' is the removal of excessive sebum or oil from the skin. However, oily skin care procedures should not lead to complete removal of oil. 'Oily skin care' starts with the use of a cleanser. However, not all cleansers will work. You need a cleanser which contains salicylic acid i.e. a beta-hydroxy acid that retards the rate of sebum production. Cleansing should be done twice a day (and even more in hot and humid conditions).
Most of the oily skin care products are oil-free; however, it is always good to check the ingredients of the product, before you actually buy it. This is especially important if a product is marked as 'suitable for all skin types', instead of 'oily skin care product'. 'Oily skin care' is also dependent on the degree of oiliness, if you aren't too oily, so some of these 'suitable for all'- type of products might be work for you too. For extremely oily skin, only oily skin care products are suitable. Your oily skin care routine can include an alcohol based toner (for an extremely oily skin). This can be the second step in your oily skin care routine i.e. just after cleansing. However, excessive toning can harm your skin.
The next step in your oily skin care routine can be a mild moisturiser. Again, the degree of oiliness of your skin will determine whether you need to include this in your oily skin care routine. If you do decide to include a moisturiser, be sure to use one that is oil-free, wax-free and lipid-free.
You could also use a clay mask (say once a week) as an oily skin care measure.
As far as the oily skin care products go, you might need to try out a few before you arrive at the one that is really suitable for your skin.
In case these measures don't give you the desired result, consult a good dermatologist for advice. He could prescribe stronger oily skin care products like vitamin A creams, retinoids, sulphur creams etc , which can help counter the problems of oily skin.

Makeup And Skin Care
Author: Nitin Jain
Source: isnare.com
'Make up and skin care' is generally regarded as women's forte. Men seldom indulge in 'Make up and skin care'. Many men do care for their skin but make up is really alien to most men. Treating make up and skin care as different topics wouldn't make sense; after all, make up will work only if the skin is healthy. So how do you exercise make up and skin care, together? Here are some tips for make up and skin care:
1. Always have skin care on mind, whether you are buying products for make up or actually applying them onto your skin after you have bought them. So what you are buying is a 'make up and skin care' product, not just a make up product. Check the ingredients to see if it contains things that you might be allergic to. Also check if it contains high concentration chemicals that can harm your skin.
2. 'Make up and skin care' is also about testing the products before using them. So, apply the make up on a small patch of skin e.g. earlobes and check how your skin reacts to it.
3. Keep track of expiry date on your make up products and never use them beyond the expiry date. In fact some products (e.g. vitamin C based products), if not stored properly, get spoilt much earlier than the expiry date.
4. Cleanliness is an important part of make up and skin care procedure. Sharpen your eye-liners regularly and keep all your makeup equipment clean at all times. You might fix a date, each month, for overhauling of your equipment. As part of cleanliness, your make up and skin care procedure should also include keeping your hair clean at all times.
5. Nail care is another important aspect of make up and skin care. Use a good quality nail polish and always keep your nails clean. Once you are done with cleaning and polishing your nails, you should rub in cuticle oil at the edges of the nail.
6. If you have deep-set eyes, you should use a liquid eye liner instead of a pencil one. This will prevent smudging at the deep edges of your eye-lid.
7. If you have a skin disorder e.g. acne, you should not apply heavy or chemical based make up. Consult your dermatologist if you are not sure about the make up products that you can use while you have acne or other skin disorder. Never try to squeeze pimples/ acne. Remember that make up and skin care should not conflict each other.
8. Use a mild make up remover (instead of just washing it away).
9. Another important 'make up and skin care' procedure is the following golden rule: "Never sleep with your make up on"
10. While applying a deodorant, make sure that you maintain the recommended distance between the nozzle and your skin (as mentioned on the deodorant pack).
So, make up and skin care should always go hand in hand. Do not try to treat make up and skin care differently.
