Men are turning green with eco friendly skin products! What does that mean and what shade of green are we talking about? What exactly is an eco friendly skin care product?
Eco friendly skin products have been created for consumers who are concerned about the fragile state of the planet and want to play their part, however small, in helping protect it. Basically the manufacturers who embrace the eco friendly approach are paying great attention to what type of bottle and packaging their product is in, who has made it and where it has come from, what effect it has on our bodies and what happens to that product once it is finished with. In other words they are going the full circle and thinking about what effect their actions will have on future generations.
Not that long ago, the only beauty product the majority of men used was a bar of soap but these days most women will tell you that their men spend almost as long, if not longer than them, in the bathroom and that they have an impressive range of products to care for for their skin . Advertising has played a huge part in this role change since magazines, TV screens and billboards have been bombarded with male models and celebrities, such as David Beckham, endorsing the use of masculine grooming products, and that has encouraged men to want to look and feel good about themselves.
Many men are turning to organic male grooming products because they realise that a lot of the regular products contain harmful chemicals which can cause eye and skin irritation and in even more serious cases, can lead to asthma or cancer. Skin is our largest organ and roughly 87% of what we rub onto our skin enters our bodies, so it makes sense to use these environmentally friendly products that are guaranteed to contain no residual chemicals or to have harmed the planet or its inhabitants. Men are no longer afraid to embrace their female side and many establish a routine, such as any woman, of exfoliating, cleansing and toning as well as using facial creams and masks.
The new age green man enjoys using his luxurious organic skin care products because the beneficial properties of the natural plant extracts and oils help soothe his sore, irritated post shaved skin, or help calm an acne prone skin. Also the creams are naturally thick and non greasy, so easily absorbed by the skin without clogging the pores and the natural aromas are to die for. One word of warning though – make sure you have a lock on your bathroom cabinet or you may find the female members of the household disappearing with your organic facial goodies!
