Alpha Lipoic Acid The Miracle Nutrient Now Used In Anti Aging Skin Care Formulas

Many of us are aware of the benefits of taking antioxidants, such as vitamins A, C, and E, the mineral selenium, and the amino acid Acetyl L- carnitine. They have shown to be beneficial for our health, but they are also essential for healthy skin. Another important antioxidant nutrient that was discovered over 50 years ago that is now being added to anti-aging skin care formulas is called alpha lipoic acid. This remarkable natural substance is found in all of our cells, and is a more powerful antioxidant than vitamins A, C, or E. This nutrient can be taken orally, and is available in dosages as low as 50 milligrams (mg.), and up to a maximum of 600 mg. per capsule. It is not only helpful in treating a variety of skin conditions, but it can also help certain health conditions.
Do you suffer from inflamed skin? Do you have blackheads, whiteheads or acne scars on your skin? Acne is a skin condition that afflicts millions of people. Fortunately, there are a number of products on the market, both chemical and natural, that can successfully help treat this condition. Most people that suffer from this condition take antibiotics, or use a prescribed topical lotion that contains benzoyl peroxide. Since there are side effects associated with the use of these chemical topical formulas, many people have chosen to treat this cosmetic problem naturally. Over the years, we have seen a number of formulas that contain botanicals, essential oils, and antioxidants since they can achieve skin enhancing benefits without harmful side effects. In the case of acne scars, a study was performed testing a topically applied alpha lipoic acid skin cream to determine if it would reduce or eliminate these skin blemishes. After several months of treatment, a significant improvement was noted in the reduction of acne scars. In addition, this natural compound did not cause the stinging, redness, or irritation normally experienced with the use of benzoyl peroxide based products.
Another troublesome skin condition similar to acne is rosacea. The symptoms of this skin condition include facial redness and broken blood vessels in the skin. This problem can cause some people to shy away from social situations, since it gives the appearance of a "drinkers face." A prevailing belief of many medical authorities today is that inflammation is at the root cause of any disease, and rosacea is no exception. Our personal appearance is very important to most of us, and the medical profession is able to control this condition with the use of antibiotics. Alpha lipoic acid has been shown to be very helpful in reducing the redness associated with this condition. Additionally, this natural skin cream does not cause inflammation to the skin when topically applied. This treatment choice is an option for those people that would like to avoid taking antibiotics in order to control this skin condition. Certainly, you should consult with your doctor to determine if antibiotic therapy should be combined with a skin cream containing this natural compound. Many of the topical prescription lotions have been claimed to cause redness since they are inflammatory.
As we age, some of us may develop bags, or dark circles under our eyes. In my case, if I don't get the proper amount of sleep, I will tend to develop a sallow complexion. This yellowish appearance of my skin is caused by inflammation resulting from free radical damage to our skin cells. Alpha lipoic acid is an effective anti-aging skin care nutrient, and is helpful in treating this skin problem since it has anti-inflammatory properties. It is very effective at reducing swelling under the eyes, and many people have stated that they didn't need cosmetic surgery to correct that problem. In order to avoid having those skin symptoms, you should try to get at least 8 hours of sleep each night, not smoke, and keep your alcohol consumption to a bare minimum.
Besides its anti-aging skin care enhancing effects, this amazing nutrient has shown to be beneficial in treating certain health conditions. Diabetes is a degenerative disease which can occur as a result of heredity, or by a diet that is high in sugar and refined carbohydrates. It is important to reduce or eliminate those high glycemic foods in your diet, since they turn to sugar quickly in the blood stream. Alpha lipoic acid is beneficial in treating diabetes since it quickly removes glucose from the bloodstream. When people eat foods high in sugar, it will also have a deleterious effect on their skin. Inflammation will result because of the rapid rise in one's blood sugar.
Hepatitis is a serious health condition resulting from a virus that attacks the liver. It is mainly contracted from blood and body fluids. There are a number of drug therapies available such as interferon, and the antiviral drug entecavir is also used to treat this disease. Alternative physicians have prescribed alpha lipoic acid at a dosage of about 600 to 1800 mg. per day. They have also included in their protocol other antioxidants, such as selenium, Vitamin C, and botanical herbs like milk thistle, and dandelion root. This treatment approach has been very successful for those suffering with Hepatitis C. Individuals utilizing this type of treatment noticed an increase in their energy levels, and, as a result, they did not need to consider having a liver transplant. Alpha lipoic acid is a good detoxifier, and is beneficial for individuals suffering from hepatitis since it helps rid the body of toxic waste.
The beneficial results of this remarkable nutrient have been documented, and we should consider making it a part of our daily anti-aging skin care regimen. We should not wait until our skin appears lifeless, dry, wrinkled, or shows other signs of aging before applying an alpha lipoic acid skin cream. Instead, we should consider practicing a preventative approach by using a formula containing this nutrient while our skin is still healthy. A healthy lifestyle including a balanced wholesome diet, exercise, and an antioxidant supplement regimen is also important and will help treat our skin from within. So, if you would like to lessen or erase wrinkles, eliminate crow's feet, and reduce the swelling under your eyes, utilizing this nutrient in topical and supplemental form will help you attain a more youthful appearance, while improving the condition of your skin at the same time!
Skin Care Problems – Lisa's Story

Skin Care Problems and Solutions
Skin care problems, like sagging skin, wrinkles, brown spots, acne, rosacea, dry skin, or aging skin can affect your appearance and how others think about you. More importantly, it can affect how you think about yourself. Here are some solutions to those problems.
Lisa used to love going out on the town with friends every once in a while. It sure was a great stress reducer. But, then, Lisa started to experience skin problems, like skin blemishes (possibly from all that sun exposure earlier in life) and some wrinkles around the eyes (you can't stop aging you know) and elsewhere. It seemed like co-workers and others didn't talk to Lisa the same anymore and they didn't want to go out with her as much. What the heck was happening here?
What Happens to So Many People
Lisa's confidence dropped quickly and so did her overall looks. She stopped dressing smartly and professionally. She stopped exercising and for some reason, didn't care what she ate either. Within a few months, Lisa started to feel quite ill and started missing work, not to mention how older she looked. What was she to do? A trip to her doctor was a good starting point.
Skin Care Makeover and More
Her doctor was very sympathetic, but mentioned that in order for her to improve how she looked and felt, some actions had to be taken. Taking better care of her skin, losing some weight, and eating better would help. Lisa mentioned that dressing better might also be a good idea, since really successful women always looked sharp in every way. These steps just might do it.
After some effort and time, it worked. She got her life back, and like magic, people started noticing a new women. A new Lisa with radiant, clear, smooth looking skin, an attractive figure, and wearing a new sharp outfit, emerged.
The Result
Success at work and in her whole life followed. It all started with improving the look on her face using advanced skin care products. Everything else amazingly flowed from that point onwards.
Conclusion
If you like the look of the person you look at every day in the mirror, it will affect your energy level and what you'll be able to accomplish in the rest of your life.
Don't give up on yourself. If you have problems, see a doctor if needed and get help. Pray also, because God does want to assist you, but you have to ask.
Lisa's story is only an example, but is a carbon copy of similar stories that are very common in today's society.

Oily Skin Care Treatment Information

The sebaceous glands in your skin form an oil called sebum, which lubricates and protects the surface of your skin. When the glands are overproductive and form too much sebum, your skin can appear greasy, shiny and course, with large pores and more frequent breakouts. This condition is known as oily skin.
Oily skin can be caused by a wide variety of factors, including genetics, fluctuating hormone levels, dietary choices, certain cosmetics and hot, humid weather. Although oily skin is prevalent in teenagers because skin becomes dryer with age, it can occur at any age. When your skin is oily only in certain areas, this is known as combination skin. The one advantage of having oily skin is that it tends to age at a slower rate than any other type of skin.
For oily skin care treatment, it is imperative to cleanse oily skin two to three times per day. Gentle cleansers with lukewarm water work best to remove oils without stripping the surface of the skin. A gentle astringent or toner should be used after cleansing. Finally, a light moisturizer that is not oil-based can be used in areas prone to dryness, such as around the eyes and mouth. Since oily skin tends to be scaly, the use of a mask twice a week can be very helpful in deep cleansing the pores and removing dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Another great technique for cleansing the pores is to steam your face over hot water for several minutes twice a week. This loosens the sebum in clogged pores and makes your skin look cleaner and more vital.
Healthy living habits can also improve the appearance and condition of oily skin. Drinking six to eight glasses of water per day, regular exercise and sleep and avoiding cigarettes are good ways to have beautiful skin. Supplementing your diet with vitamins A, B, C, E and zinc also promote healthy skin. With a little extra attention, you can dramatically improve the condition and appearance of your oily skin. If these ideas do not help and your skin remains prone to constant breakouts, you may have a skin condition known as acne, which requires additional care and treatment.

The beauty product manufacturers must have every single type of skin care problem covered by now. Skin Care Tips

Women across the world scan magazines and television channels for wonder tips for rejuvenating their skin. Men, too, are becoming increasingly conscious of their looks, and cosmetic giants are catering to their specific skin care needs.
Both men and women need to follow a proper skin care regimen to prevent premature aging and possess glowing skin. Mothers should begin skin care of their children right from infancy. This will not only keep children's skin healthy, but encourage children to undertake a proper beauty regimen later in life. Clinically tested baby products such as body oil, soap, cream, and lotion can be applied to babies' skin to keep it clean, soft, and supple.
Teenagers across the world constitute one of the most avid supporters of regular skin care. One reason is that they face a host of skin problems due to hormonal changes and improper lifestyles. Teenagers with oily skin tend to suffer most from acne. Pimples should not be picked or squeezed, as this leaves marks on the skin. The face should be washed at least twice every day with water and a mild face wash to keep out grime and reduce oiliness. A basic skin care regimen involving the use of cleanser, toner, and moisturizer should be followed.
Women, apart from following a similar regimen, need to take special care during and after pregnancy. Oil or cream massage is essential to avoid ugly stretch marks and sagging of skin. Older women need to apply outer eye cream, night cream, and anti-wrinkle cream and masks to avoid age-related skin problems. Exfoliation is also necessary to get rid of dead cells.
Men can choose from an array of pre-shaving oils, shaving gels, and post-shaving moisturizers in addition to skin rejuvenators and scrubs exclusively manufactured for men. All individuals also need to use a sunscreen with SPF of 15 or higher when they go out during the day, to protect their skin from premature aging.
To conclude, regular skin care is essential for healthy and glowing skin.
Either natural or cosmetic products can be used for this purpose, based on individual choice. However, external care must be supplemented with a nutritious, low-fat diet, sufficient intake of water, and adequate sleep. In addition, stress should be avoided.

Best Anti Aging Skin Care Solutions Exposed!

Some of the best and possible solutions to delaying aging can be very cheap. The possibilities of using these solutions are safer than using the conventional skin care products. The best anti aging skin care solutions maybe underneath the sky, in other words, Mother Nature itself. Some of the products companies used in their cosmetics are really found on nature, from the verdant fruits that we eat to the minerals we find in the seas. Best anti aging skin care solutions in your own backyard, as they say, as your very own carrots planted in the backyard can be used the same way as cucumber or the ginger that was an herbal medicine to some local people can be used to treat skin from different kinds of disorders.
However, the best anti aging skin care solutions is through discipline. People nowadays took for granted the importance of washing your face every now and then, leading to a series of unwanted disorders like pimples or acne and if that happens, rely on the skin care products, which is not, always, the best solution. To be disciplined on that basis is hard, considering how lazy people had become or to busy to even do it. Another reason is their lack of will to avoid eating too many sweets. Sweets often rooted the cause of having skin disorders and the solution is to limit, if not avoid, eating of sweets. The only best anti aging skin care solution that I can only share is ... wear something can block the sun and mostly, a cap. UV rays are the most dangerous thing that can harm your skin and most likely to give you skin cancer. There are products that can help block off those harmful UV rays like lotion and sun block creams.
The best anti aging skin care solution can be achieved if you look at the products carefully and see if that product works on you. Sometimes the product that you use are essentially not recommended for you due to the reason that it may not work on you type of skin or that it may give some side effects that may put your health at risk. To look at a product doesn't mean the price or the new chemical it has but if it is compatible to your skin and that it will not endanger your physical well being. It also must suit your taste and that product will give the result you wanted. Creams and all are characterized based on the skin's elasticity, genetic make up and the capability of absorbing the minerals the product has.
However, it will only be up to the person to decide if the product can be trustworthy or not. But the only possible best solution for skin care is by taking care of your skin, getting enough sleep and having a rigorous exercise that can make you sweat and at the same time, eating a balanced meal. That way, you can rest assured of a healthy skin and body.

Natural Skin Care for Your Children
Author: Danny Siegenthaler
Source: articleage.com
The skin of your children is soft, wrinkle free, supple, smooth and usually unblemished. "Smooth as a baby's bottom", is an expression used to indicate that some object or material has an extremely smooth finish or is smooth to the touch, just like a baby's bottom.
Young skin is smooth and has a youthful appearance - of course, it's young. As children grow up and their bodies start to mature, so to does their skin - teenagers often get acne and in some cases this can even lead to permanent scaring on their faces.
But there is another less obvious aging process that has a long term rather than a short term effect on the health and vitality of our skin - the sun.
Did you know, that 50% of exposure to the sun is done before we are 20? As young kids, we spend vast amounts of time outside and play in the sun, on the beach, in the snow, on playgrounds and so on. The amount of UV radiation that our skin is exposed to is huge.
The effects of this exposure however, is not obvious except for the occasional sunburn, but once that heals, there is little evidence of long-term damage. That is unless you could look below the surface of the skin.
The damage of UV radiation is focused on the dermis of our skin, this is where it has the greatest impact and that is where the long-term damage accumulates. Yes, the damage is cumulative. More UV exposure, more damage.
The media has helped to promote awareness of the risks of skin cancer due to excessive exposure to the sun, but rarely do we hear about other factors, such as premature signs of aging of our skin. Break down of collage, dehydration, and so on.
Often it is not until we reach our late 20's or early 30's that we start seeing the first little fine lines and begin to think about our skin care on a more serious level. But by now, most of the damage has already been done and all we are doing is to try to prevent the inevitable.
So, what should we do? Well, the first step is to start educating our children. Babies are used to having creams and lotions put on their bodies. So why do we stop when the nappy period of their lives is over?
It is at this point that children should be encouraged to put natural creams and lotions on their bodies after they have a shower or a bath. From the time they go to kindergarten, if not earlier, they will be spending many hours outdoors and sure we use the sunscreens, hats and generally try to keep the sun off their bare skin, but at the same time, we should encourage the use of natural skin care creams and lotions to protect, nourish, hydrate and cleanse their young and tender skin.
For example, introducing your children to using natural soaps rather than the harsh, commercially available types, will help their skin maintain its natural pH balance and thus the skin's Acid Mantel.
Of course when they get grease or oil on their skin you may need to use a more powerful cleaner, but there are plenty of natural soaps available for all skin cleansing jobs. Wildcrafted's Heavenly Hand & Body Wash is perfectly able to get rid of stubborn dirt and grime and at the same time it is kind and nourishing to their skin.
Teach your children to use natural hand creams. The skin on our hands gets more ware and tear then any other part using a good hand cream will help to keep their skin soft, supple and healthy.
Teach them to use a natural moisturising cream on their face and on their body. Choose a natural moisturiser that's suitable for Normal skin, as children do not tend to have oily or dry skin, this usually starts around the time of puberty.
If you continue teaching your children from an early age to use natural skin care products on their skin, they will naturally continue this process and their skin will thank you and them in the long term.

Winter Skin Care Tips
Author: David Maillie
Source: articlemarketer.com
The changes in the seasons can have an effect on the condition of your skin. Especially if you live somewhere with very harsh winters this can have a negative impact upon the health of your skin.
The different seasons have different weather conditions, and these changes can significantly affect your skin. Especially in climates with dramatic swings from cold to warm and back again. Not only do these climates wear down the bodys immune system, but also your skin.
If your skin is exposed to the elements then it can dry out, even start flaking, or worse, cracking (cracking and dried out skin can make your skin more susceptible to infection). You should take good care of your skin during these bitter winter months. As long as you are on your guard and take a few steps to protect your skin, you should be able to avoid the winter damaging your skin too much.
I know that most people only apply sunscreen when they go on holiday during the summer! This is not the right thing to do, you should apply suntan lotion every day of the year, even during the winter. Be sure to apply a sun screen with SPF of 15 or greater, otherwise there is no point. The sun reflects off the snow and ice that can not only cause snow blindness, it can also be damaging to your skin. It is also a good idea to use noncomodogenic sunscreens and lotions so you will not create a breeding ground for acne causing bacteria and viruses like herpes and canker sores.
Wrap up warm when you venture outside, wear a scarf that you can pull up over your cheeks. This not only protects the skin from the sun, but also from the bitter wind and harsh elements. Wind alone can severely dry out your skin and rub it raw, so bundle up and do not be afraid to use a hood.
You should exfoliate your skin on a regular basis, this helps to get rid of those pesky flaking skin, and also smoothes the skins surface. Exfoliation is essential to optimum skin health. There are two main types of exfoliant.
There is a chemical exfoliant or skin peel, such as the AHA skin peel, which works by killing off the top most layer of skin, to give you a radiant complexion. There are numerous types of skin peels and according to doctors and plastic surgeons the TCA skin peel is the easiest to apply and, by far, the most effective and longest lasting.
TCA peels are used in almost every dermatologist and plastic surgeons office for treating everything from dry skin and aging skin, to acne and numerous other skin problems and diseases. TCA skin peels normally run $500 to over $1000 per treatment, but have now been made available for in home use.
